Laudato Si’ Symposium and Retreat
Sunday 17 September to Friday 29 September


This experience is for anyone seeking to integrate Laudato Si’ into their way of being on Earth. It will be an opportunity to explore the deep spiritual connection between place, people and culture through dialogue and collective action. It aims to purposefully transform our organisations, diocese, schools, health and social services, parishes and communities to respond to the ecological, economic and social crises of our times.

Symposium presenters include: Aboriginal Australians, Theologians such as Prof Denis Edwards & Dr Tony Kelly, Economists such as Dr Ross Garnaut and Dr Bruce Duncan, Biblical scholar Dr Elizabeth Dowling, Cultural and Environmental Historian Dr George Main, Health Professional Dr Katrina Anderson MD, Local Agriculturalists David Marsh and Chris Main.

The Symposium and Retreat offers opportunities for deep listening, relaxation and reflection in nature that will bring alive the vision of Laudato Si’. The second week in retreat will be led by Spiritual Director Dr Kerrie Hide & Fr Patrick Corbett, C.Ss.R.

Reflections on the “little ones” in the Gospels. A preached retreat. Using the beauty and simplicity of music, this journey allows retreatants to experience the following of Christ in our daily life. The opportunity to feel the simplicity, the power of his presence, and above all the peace.

Fix Your Eyes Upon Jesus, a weekend retreat

Fix Your Eyes Upon Jesus (Hebrews 3:1). At the Last Supper, Jesus said to his disciples, “I am the way” (John 14:6). Our life’s journey is with Jesus to the Father. He has gone before us. “No-one can come to the Father except through me (John 14:6). Retreatants will focus their reflections and prayers on Jesus who cries out on our behalf, “Abba, Father” (Matthew 6:9). Once again on this retreat, as for every disciple, we will hear his voice calling and inviting us, “Follow me (Matthew 9:9). Fr McGill is a New Zealand Redemptorist and missioner of many years, with involvement in the charismatic renewal.

Six Day Retreat: The Inner Journey

“Without leaving the world let us plunge into God.” Teilhard de Chardin. A contemplative journey into ways of prayer using the insights of the French Benedictine monk and mystic Fr Henri Le Saux, who became a pilgrim to India and wrote under the title of “Abishiktanada”. A contemplative, meditative journey with the opportunity for individual direction.

Divine Love, the Heart of the Christian Journey

Monday 30 October to Wednesday 1 November

A silent retreat to look at where the Kingdom of God is at work in our hearts. Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of God is present in the most ordinary circumstances of our lives.

All weekday retreats start with the evening meal at 6pm and finish after breakfast on the last day of the retreat. Weekend retreats start with the evening meal and finish after lunch on Sunday.
